Canal Days!

Journal Entry: Tue Jul 1, 2008, 12:09 PM
Hey! Long time no deviant :P
Sorry I've been gone so long, I've been searching for a job... Still nothing unfortunately :(

But in the meantime, here's a few deviations to keep you happy. There's a big canal/water theme going on here. My boyfriend and I are going on a canal boat holiday in September for a week with a couple of his friends, and we went to check out the boat we'd be renting, and also popped to Stoke Bruerne which is a lovely little town in the West Midlands in England. So expect more canal-themed pictures in late September!

So, here are my latest deviations:
Swans:

Lock Mechanics series:

Rusty Boat:

Canal Days series:

At the moment I'm looking for someone I can commission to sort out a CSS for my journal - does anyone know someone who can do that for me? Send a message or leave a comment if you do!

Also currently avoiding the local tap water as it is infected with Cryptosporium - sounds friendly doesn't it? Check it out on the news: [link]

I'm off to cook dinner. Byeeeee!

Sorry for the lack of deviations as of late, but I've been reeeeeeeeeally busy!!

Basically, after many discussions with Adam and my parents, and what seems like thousands of lengthy tutorials with tutors at uni, I have decided to suspend my year.
I am very much behind in my uni work, for various reasons, and with only about 4-5 weeks left before the end of the year, there's no way I can get it all done. Suspending my year is the answer because, as last year I failed my second year and now I am repeating it, they won't let me re-take it again, so I will be leaving uni now, and going back in April 2009 to do my last term.
In the meantime I will be catching up on the work, improving it, and working full time trying to earn some money and get out of debt. I'm not sure if I'll carry on into my third year after doing my last term, we'll see how the year out goes.

But I'm quite looking forward to working full time... It will give me structure and, where uni involves doing work outside uni hours, work will not - so when I come home at the end of the day, my time is my own time! I'm looking forward to this so much!
Also, having a steady regular income will also be nice, as budgeting for one month is a helluva lot easier than budgeting for three!
I'm thinking I wasn't really cut out for uni, not everyone is... but we'll see! Also, with all this 'me'-time I'll be having, I'll be ableto get on with my own photography and Photoshop projects, and lots more crafting too!

I plan to do some craft tonight, so maybe there will be more stuff up over the next few days. Hopefully :P

Anyway, must off now and do some housework!

Sorry I haven't updated in a while, been very very busy and I still am! I'm just taking a break from writing an essay, and I thought I would do a journal entry to gie my brain a rest :P

Latest news: on March 21st I turned 21! Yay! I can drink legally in the USA now, haha. I have also decided to take a year out from university as it's not really working out for me - maybe university just isn't the route I need to go down in life? Anyway, I'll let you all know how that goes as it goes!

So, on to my features. This is very much inspired by my lovely :iconcinthiastimson: She takes a subject and shows her favourite deviations from the site.
My subject will be:........

Buildings and Architecture!
The following images are ones which really captured my imagination:

Ok, I'm going to start doing a Featured journal once in a while, and my first one is going to be for :icontekiegirl: Tekiegirl!

These are my favourite pics of her collection so far:

She's new to DA, and slowly adding new deviations, so keep an eye on this lady!
She'll probably hate me for saying this, but she seems to have a thing for purple flowers, hahaha!
Go offer her some encouragement and leave her some nice comments! :D

As for me, more deviations will be up when I have time. I've just recently grabbed myself some Photoshop brushes from here: [link] and here: [link]
I will credit the appropriate artist if I use their brush. Really got into the rough, damaged look, as in This Is England [link]

***EDIT***

I have done loads of print submissions! If anyone is interested, please go have a peek :) [link]

Ok, I've just subscribed to DA, woot! Enjoying the new benefits. But I want a CSS and I don't know how to create one. Can anyone give me pointers on how to go about sorting one out?

I've done a poll too, about cloning. I know that might seem random, but it's part of a uni project and plus I'm just interested in peoples' views. NOT looking to start a big argument, just interested to find out, so please don't attack each other's views in the discussion! Be good little girls and boys!

Might be putting some more work up later today - I've done a commission for an American olive oil company for a label/logo, so that will be up soon. Not totally sure if they are running with my submission yet, but if they do then all you American Deviants will preobably see my work in your local supermarket soon with any luck!! How cool is that?? :D

Anyway, go vote, comment, have fun!! And give me a shout on my new shoutbox lol!

 to all!
